VINCENNES, Ind. -- The John A. Logan Men's Basketball team went 3-0 in their first action of the year at the Vincennes Jamboree . The Vols recorded wins over South Suburban of Chicago, 51-22, the Community College of Beaver County, 49-32 and Tennessee Prep, 74-54.
"We wanted to go 3-0 and we did," said Logan coach Kyle Smithpeters. "I thought our players had a good demeanor and did the things you have to do to have a good year. We had players diving on the floor for loose balls and we took charges."
Logan will host the third annual Midwest Jamboree next Sunday (Oct.21) at the SIU Recreation Center. There will be three games going at all times on three different courts. There will be 16 teams and over 125 four-year scouts. The full day of basketball begins at 12-noon.
"The competition will be much tougher at the Midwest Jamboree," Smithpeters said. "Logan will play Missouri State-West Plains, Southeastern Iowa, and Highland."
