The John A. Logan men's basketball team begins 2019 with a three-game home stand. The nationally ranked Volunteers will host West Kentucky Tech tonight, Friday, January 4th at 5 p.m. League foe Southwestern Illinois (SWIC) will be at Logan on Wednesday, January 9th at 7 p.m., and Lake Land visits the Vols on Saturday, January 12th at 3 p.m.
The high-flying Volunteers (12-1) are ranked eighth nationally, have won eight straight games and lead the Great Rivers Athletic Conference with an undefeated record (4-0).
Several Logan players rank nationally including David Sloan who leads the nation in assists with 9.2 per game. Vonnie Patterson is fifth nationally in 3-point shooting percentage at 54.51. Freshman standout Jay Scrubb is 25th nationally in 3-point shooting at 51.4.
"We were playing good basketball prior to the Holiday break and hopefully we can pick up where we left off," said Kyle Smithpeters Logan coach. "We have had great crowds up to this point. I'm excited about our fans coming out to help us move forward."
