John A. Logan, Ranked Third Nationally, Gains Road Win at Lincoln Trail

ROBINSON -- David Sloan, last week's NJCAA national player of the week, scored 29 points, pulled down 4 rebounds and dished out 6 assists to lead John A. Logan to a 76-66 road win over Lincoln Trail College.

Sloan who leads the nation in assists with 10.2 per game, was impressive down the stretch as he made 9 of 10 free throws to seal the victory. Chris Harris had 13 points for Logan while Jordan Cousin had 13 points and 6 rebounds and Vonnie Patterson had 7 points and 11 rebounds.

Logan, ranked third nationally, is now 17-1 overall, 8-0 and in first place in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and has won 13 straight. Lincoln Trail is 11-4 and 4-3 in the league.

The long road trip to Robinson was lengthened when the Vols charter bus slipped into a ditch during a snow storm outside Lawrenceville. Unable to pull the bus out led to the Volunteers spending the night at a hotel in Vincennes, Ind.  They arrived back to campus in another charter bus at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
