MATTOON, Ill. -- David Sloan and Jay Scrubb both had double-doubles to lead John A. Logan to a 113-81 road win over Lake Land College on Wednesday night. Sloan, who leads the nation in assists, scored 12 points and dished out 16 assists while Scrubb scored 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Volunteers took their first lead at 11-10 and led the rest of the way leading 58-39 at the half. A put-back basket by Antwan Campbell put Logan at the century mark, 100-64, with 8:40 remaining in the game.
Jonah Jackson was 7-11 from three and scored 21 points, Chris Harris had four triples and scored 15 points while Vonnie Patterson had 12. The Lakers, 10-17 overall and 4-12 in the conference, were led by Josh Brewer with 20 points.
The Vols, ranked seventh nationally, are now 24-3 overall and 14-1 and in first place in the conference. They host Rend Lake on Saturday with the women playing at 1 p.m. while the men tip off at 3 p.m.
