The Vols are hosting the 4th Annual Midwest Jamboree at the SIU Student Recreation Center on Sunday Oct. 20. The Jamboree will attract 16 teams including some of the top junior college teams in the nation. Spectators will include over 100 NCAA Division I coaches.
Over the last two jamborees hosted by Logan, 72 players have signed with
Division I teams. This year there are more teams and some of the top talent in the nation.
The teams include last year's national champions from Vincennes and nationally ranked powers, John A. Logan, Indian Hills, Wabash Valley, West Plains, Olney, and Triton.
Top players will include Street & Smith's National Player of the Year, Jay Scrubb of Logan who has committed to Louisville for next season, Tyon Grant-Foster of Indian Hills who has committed to Kansas and Sardaar Calhoun of Missouri State-West Plains who has committed to Florida State. There will be over 200 players total in the event.
The games will begin at 12-noon with three games being played at all times on three courts side by side. One of the top games could be Vincennes against Indian Hills at 1 p.m.
John A. Logan, ranked third nationally by Street & Smith's, will play West Plains at 2 p.m., Mineral Area at 5 p.m., and Triton at 6 p.m.
Entrance will be on the south entrance to the Recreation Center with a charge of $5 for adults with children 12 and under admitted free.
